Scaling in a workout is one of the most important things you can do, because it helps protect you from injury. If the weight you’re moving is too heavy to do a repetition with good form, then you need to scale down to a weight that allows good form throughout the whole exercise. On the flip side, movements you perform too easily can be scaled up to provide more benefit by increasing the work done (e.g. box jumps at higher heights).
